The custom steel and glass addition opens the house to the garden on the first two floors. The windows in the rear brick wall have been opened and extended, so that the new kitchen at the center of the house can connect to both the living dining room facing front and the sitting room at the rear. The roof of the addition serves as a deck for the master bedroom. The roof and the railings are hung from the steel superstructure above.
