Woodstock, NY

The client, a psychotherapist, requested a series of small additions that would allow her to meet clients at home and simultaneously give the house a new character. Her professional office is in a former utility space beneath the house and connected to the living quarters with an exterior stair. The primary house entry has a distinctive new foyer with a guest suite/study loft above.

The additions are mahogany, both inside and out, and board formed concrete. The foyer glazing is insulating polycarbonate. The owners interest in eastern cultures is seen in the furnishings, including the pair of antique hand carved wood doors installed in her office.
